Love Endures-free printable

Valentines Day is a little more than a month off.  I couldn't believe how quickly the chocolate hearts and candy kisses appeared in the stores after Christmas!  I'm pretty sure it was the day after. Anyone else think so too?
It's fun to celebrate holidays and gather with family and friends.  And I think any excuse to do so is a good one.  Valentines Day is all about LOVE.  Showing love to our sweetheart, our kids, our folks.  I remember being a kid in school making our Valentine envelopes to hang around the classroom for our friends to place cards in. I remember, as one Valentines Day drew near, noticing that someone had put one of the huge cards that came in the books of kid's Valentines cards we would get for our classmates, into my envelope! I was so excited, but of course, couldn't look to see who it was from until our class party. When the day arrived, I was devastated. The card was gone from my envelope. I never knew where it went or who it had been from. Funny how things like that stay in your memory. I couldn't tell you what grade it was or who my teacher had been. But I remember that card and the feeling of disappointment and confusion.

I have enjoyed many Valentines Days since then though. I love giving gifts to my family. We don't go overboard with Valentines Day though. I try to find some little things to put into a heart mug or tin. Just something to let them all know how much they mean to me.  When my kids were little we would make heart shaped cookies for my parents. We'd mail them off, hoping they wouldn't break on the way. It doesn't have to be expensive to say "I love you", no matter what the jewelry store ads might try to convince you of!

To get an early start on Valentines I decided to make up a printable to share with you.  I used PicMonkey to create it. It is such a great program to play with! You really should check it out.
I chose to use a verse from the Bible, one that my husband and I used on our wedding invitations 30 years ago this coming October.  1 Corinthians 13 is all about what love should be.

This will print out on a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of cardstock, but you can resize it using your printer setting to 5 x7 inch.  I scaled mine to 30% to get it to the 5 x 7 inch size.  I also created it with a transparent background, so you can print it onto whatever colour cardstock you prefer.  Remember, Staples does an awesome and cheap print, so if you want to save on ink, or don't have a printer you can always get it done there.

If you would like to make a matte like the one in my photo, you can use whatever paper you like ( I have a huge stash of scrapbooking paper I chose from) and an 8.5 x 11 frame. Simply trim your printed out verse to the size you would like it to be, and cut your matte paper to fit into the frame (8.5 x 11 inches). Then centre the verse paper on top of the matte paper. Once you have it where you want it, use a few double sided sticky squares to hold it in place. Voila! A matted verse!
I hope you'll print out a copy for yourself or to give as a gift.

  2. Hi Manda! I'm so glad you stopped over! You will not have long to wait till your little guy is old enough to 'help'. I have 2 grandsons and a granddaughter and another on the way in June! I expect lots of grandkids as I have 5 kids of my own. The 2 little boys are 15 months and 22 months and they already like helping their mommies! Take care and see you over at your blog.-Sue

    1. Hi Sherry! I always love it when you stop by! As far as staying warm..at the moment I am a bit chilly and thinking I need to go throw another log in the wood stove. I've been busy painting today and have gotten sidetracked from my regular 'chores'. Hope you don't have to go out in the freezing rain...that stuff is nasty! Take care-Hugs!
